The master planned community of Laguna Niguel is a small coastal community, home to a population of about 60,000, neighboring Laguna Beach, Mission Viejo, Aliso Viejo, and Dana Point. With a median household income of over $90,000, it is considered a high wealth community and was incorporated into a city in 1989. Laguna Niguel as an area of approximately 15 miles, and lies about 65 miles from Los Angeles and Hollywood. The home communities are varied with mountain views, cityscapes and many parks. Walking, hiking and biking trails can be enjoyed.

Over one-third of Laguna Niguel is preserved open space. At its center is the Laguna Niguel Regional Park, which includes a community recreation center, a year round community pool, community sports, community concerts and events. The Laguna Niguel Lake is a 44 acre lake located within the Laguna Niguel Regional Park. In the fall and summer months, the lake is stocked with thousands of pounds of fish.

Located just minutes from Salt Creek Beach, Laguan Beach and Dana Point harbor, Laguna Niguel has many upscale neighborhoods, including Bear Brand Ranch, Ocean Ranch, Coronado Point, South Peak, Crest de Ville, Niguel Coast, Palmilla, and Monarch Point. The Capistrano Unified School District includes seven elementary schools, two middle schools and two high schools. There is a private Catholic school serving K-8. Local colleges include Saddleback Community College, Irvine Valley College, The University of California Irvine, and Soka University, a private, four-year liberal arts college. Local hospitals include Mission Hospital, the region’s designated trauma center, one of only three in the county, as well as Saddleback Memorial Medical Center, the only women’s hospital in south Orange County.
