Known as a unique beach community and artist’s colony, Laguna Beach has seven miles of beaches running along its nine square miles. With a population of about 23,000, the resort city is host to over 3 million visitors each year. Second to San Juan Capistrano, Laguna Beach is the second oldest city in Orange County. They city is known for its hotels, boutique shops, restaurants, art galleries and art festivals. Popular culture created a reality TV series based in the town, the MTV teen-hit, Laguna Beach.
Neighboring Dana Point to the south, Newport Beach to the northwest, Laguna Beach also borders Aliso Woods Canyons Regional Park, with transportation along Pacific Coast Highway and State Route 133 crossing the hills to the northeast through the Laguna Canyon.
